Play Therapy

"Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future." -Nelson Mandela

Play therapy is a technique used in child psychology in which play is used to reveal unconscious material. The act of play is how children express and work through unconscious conflicts. By simply engaging in certain therapeutic play techniques, kids can play out whatever they want and need to work through.

At Aspire Counseling Denver, play therapy is sometimes used as the sole method of treatment. However, depending on the issue, it may be combined with NeurOptimal®, CBT, animal-assisted therapy or Brainspotting.

A session of play therapy may include

  • Sand tray therapy

  • Games and puzzles

  • Art therapy

  • Animal-assisted play

  • Theatrical play

Schedule online. It's easy, fast and secure.
