Depression

Outdoors in Autumn

There is Hope in the Storm

Depression affects more than 15 million Americans every year and is the leading cause of disability in the US for people ages 15 to 45. It is to be noted that there is a difference between situational depression and clinical depression.

People may experience levels of depression throughout life that can be attributed to circumstances. However, others suffer from chronic levels of depression and qualify for Major Depressive Disorder. Major Depressive Disorder is a mood disorder. If you suffer from the following symptoms, you may qualify for this disorder; persistent sad or indifferent mood, feelings of hopelessness, self harm irritability, feelings of worthlessness, loss of interest in hobbies or activities, decreased energy, oversleeping, feelings of lethargy or fatigue, difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions, appetite changes, thoughts of death or suicide, and chronic aches or pains.

Here at Aspire Counseling Denver, we use a variety of techniques to aid in addressing symptoms related to Depression.

Most clients combine therapy with our NeurOptimal® brain training system, which promotes brain flexibility, aiding in improved sleep, mental clarity, and other things associated with a healthy mind and body.
